spent time this weekend exploring different drupal sites. A couple of the sites incorporated great “Take Action” features - votehillary.org and greenspace.org.uk. No sense in reinventing the wheel. Take a look at these to get an idea of what our “Take Action” feature could look like.

Great finds, Chris. Being on the lookout for how other sites do things will definitely help lighten the load—as if we don’t have enough to do already!

There are some nice features here.
One difference between these two sites and ours is that they are focusing action around single issues or campaigns. Thus, joining means joining the central focus of the whole site.
One question I have is how this translates to our site in terms of having multiple groups and then also having kids initiating activities and networks around issues or interests they define?

Going on the political theme here, here’s a site that combines content focused on issues + networking tools + user generated content

Just a model to think about.
The question here is how to balance editorial content vs. user generated content.
